  3. I'm with you honey! I tell my husband there are days I've done so much marketing of my store I feel like I'm pimping it! I have to take a step back every now & then and remember why I'm doing it...because I love my stitching!

Keep up the great work! :)

  8. Wow, I feel better now--knowing that I am not the only one feeling the "marketing" blues... It is exhausting and personally I wish I was rich enough to hire my self a "wife"..I cant say maid after the conversation my youngest son and I had one day... He informed me that I do everything that a maid does, so why am I not called the maid??? I told him that in my case, and most women, it was called being a mom and a wife. He looks at me so solemn--shook his head and said--I do not see a difference...

Anyway then I could split my time just between marketing and crafting. Keep up the good work ladies...

  9. It's pretty weird because I had been doing all that constantly.... up until a few days ago when I just got so BORED of doing it! and sales had been really slow. after I stopped promoting they picked up a TINY bit and it's all from people who are strictly buyers on Etsy, some with little or no feedback ... so I wonder if I'm marketing in the wrong places. twitter/blogging/forums seems really to get those sellers to look, but they're not buying - they're focused on selling! It IS really confusing.

  11. Definitely not alone! It feels like it never ends. If only we could just create and it magically sells itself. Sigh...

  12. It is a vicious cycle... You have to promote to sell! I have had a lot of luck recently by relisting! I am trying to wean myself away from the computer so that I can get more work done! It's hard! :)

  15. Based on what I've read from people who have managed to become fairly successful, it just takes time of plugging away at both consistent marketing efforts and consistent crafting efforts.

And don't be dismissive of views from other sellers! I can only speak for myself, of course, but while I might be looking at other Etsy sellers a lot more often than I'm buying, as an artisan I consider it to be of great importance to buy from other artisans at times when I have buying to do. I mean, I doubt I'll buy much from people who make things similar to what I make, but the people I have added to my Etsy "favorites" are people I genuinely want to buy from once I have the chance to and a little more spare cash to toss around.
