BonBon DIY!

I just realized I still have my old DIY blog out there in good old cyberspace...lol. It chronicles some of the home improvements that were attempted on my home. The guy that lived here before me (us) was such a moron. He mustv'e fancied himself to be good at home improvements, but all he did was mess things up! I wish I could say to people like him: HIRE SOMEONE ELSE TO DO THE WORK!! LOL :)

Home Improvement on the cheap!

So... I'm sure everyone who has ever looked into replacing their tile has been to Home Depot (or Lowes, Menards, or your local tile shop) and seen the mosaic tile pieces that come in one block. They tend to run on the expensive side, so when we were renovating our master bathroom, I decided to save $$ and just purchase 4 large tiles, (costing a total of $10!!) put them in a cardboard box, hit them with a hammer (which felt mighty nice, I might add!), and mosaic them myself! Now, this took a lot more time then I thought...I was sitting on the floor and piecing together the mosaic myself. My back was killing me the whole time. Not only do you have to fit the pieces together, but you don't want the same colors next to each other, if you can help it. But here are some photos of the project, hopefully this will help someone out there! :)

But the end result is something that I am so proud of, and cost nothing in comparison to what it would of if we'd purchased the ready-made mosaic tiles...Voila!

New ways to add a little spice to your home!

I have some new fan pulls that I'm really excited about! Yeah, I know, who would be excited about a ceiling fan pull? Well, I am! lol! I really believe it is those little touches that make a room complete... A fan pull, a pretty finial for your favorite lamp, a beautiful print, a pretty piece of pottery, or even a beaded vase (I'm working on that!)...

Welcome to my blog!

Hello and welcome to my blog....I'm an artist who loves to make things. Whether its jewelry, paintings or even home improvement....my goal is to make things prettier. Looking at simple household objects and decorating them, thats my thing. Some people might think its strange to paint and bead a switchplate, but I say, why wouldn't you??
I hope to share my thoughts on this blog, hopefully someone out there in the world will think its remotely interesting! :) happy days....
